Monday, July 3

The library will be closed for a Canada Day long weekend.

Tuesday, July 4 –

“Jewelry Making” – 10-11am, Ages 10-12 *Registration begins June 26 — This will be a fun program for kids aged 10-12 who want to get creative and make a fun piece of jewelry to take home. If you register and can’t make it to an event, please let us know so we can offer the space to someone else.

“Hundred Acre Wood Drop In – 1:30-3:30pm, All Ages — Drop in for a few minutes, or stay the whole time for this fun event that may have some of your favourite characters! Parents, please note that most of these activities will be unsupervised, so please plan on staying in the library with your child.

Wednesday, July 5

“Storytime at the Library” – 10am, Ages 2-5 — Join us this morning for a fun session of songs, books, and early literacy activities for the young ones. The kids will get the wiggles out and have a great time! No registration.

“Jurassic Juniors” – 1:30pm, Ages 1-3 — Join us for a fun dino-themed storytime event for toddlers who love to roar and stomp! No registration required!

“Queer Sphere Crafting Circle” – 2-3:30pm, Ages 12-16 – Looking for a fun, safe space that celebrates who you are? Come alone, bring a friend–whatever you like–just be prepared to have fun and meet new friends. Bring a craft if you like or do the one we’ve created—we might even have snacks!

“Musical Instrument Bingo” – 1:30-2:30pm – All Ages – *Please note, your child should know how to read in order to participate.* — We’re planning a fun Bingo session for kids of all ages–it won’t be your typical Bingo game, and there will be some fun prizes involved. Parents should plan on staying in the building for children aged 8 and under.

Thursday, July 6

“Ocean Oasis Drop In” – 10am-noon, All Ages – This will be a fun morning of ocean-themed activities to keep everyone having fun. Drop in for a few minutes, or stay the whole time. Parents should plan on staying in the building during this event as many of the activities will be self-directed and not supervised. No registration required.

“Alice in Wonderland Escape Room” – 2-4pm, Ages 8-11 – If your tween loves escape rooms, they’ll love this Alice in Wonderland themed room! Can they solve the puzzles and escape the room? Bring a friend or sibling and give the room a try! No registration is necessary.

Friday, July 7

“Storytime in the Museum Garden” – 10am, Ages 2-5 — Join us this morning at the Carleton Place & Beckwith Heritage Museum located on 267 Edmund Street in Carleton Place. The gardens will be the perfect spot to have storytime–weather permitting–so please dress appropriately. Wear sunscreen and bring something to sit on as the grass may be damp at this time of day. We’ll see you there!

“Lego Drop In” – 1:30-3:30pm, All Ages – We’re putting out the lego this afternoon to round out our first week of summer programs. If you haven’t been to a Lego Drop In before, expect it to be busy, and lots of fun!
