The summer program calendar is out! You can download each page and print one off to have at home, or feel free to pick one up when you stop by the library. We’ll have these as well as Teen Summer Reading brochures and Adult Summer reading kits if you join us for the Library Lemonade Stand on Thursday, June 30, from 1-3pm.
How do I sign up for programs?
You can sign up for any program that requires registration only starting the week before the session. All registration links will be available on a weekly basis right here on our website! You can also register at the library—ask a friendly staff member about signing up for an event.
How much do the programs cost?
All of our summer programs are free to everyone–you don’t even have to be a member of our library!
Why is there a cost for the Summer Literacy Tutoring program?
There is a small fee to cover special training and supplies needed for this very important program. We’re excited to be able to bring it back this year after having been absent since the beginning of the pandemic and during our renovation. If your child is in need of this great program but you are finding it difficult to pay for the session, please speak to a staff member when registering.
Can I participate in programs but not do the Summer Reading program?
Of course! Children are welcome to come to fun activities throughout the summer at the library. While we also run a free reading program based on the TD Summer Reading Club model, we don’t expect everyone to participate. However—it’s free and kids can earn fun rewards throughout the summer–and maybe even win one of our adorable giant squishmallow prizes at the end of the summer—just for reading what they love!
Are there activities for teens and adults?
Teens and Adults also have their own summer reading programs which have their own reward systems and lots of benefits. While the activities listed above are mainly for children, you’ll notice a few taking place at Market Square in the CP Info Shack that are for teens and above. And as always, everyone is welcome to participate in a program that tickles their fancy–regardless of age!
